UFC middleweight Josh Samman passed away on Wednesday after spending nearly a week in a Florida hospital comatose following a probable drug overdose. He was 28. According to Dr. Craig Mallak, the chief medical examiner for Broward County, the fighter had been hospitalized for 5 days, he was brain-dead for 2 days.
He and roommate Troy Kirkingburg was discovered by a friend last September 29 in his Florida apartment both unresponsive. Kirkingburg, who was an announcer for local MMA promotions, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they were called to the home in the 2200 block of North 58th Avenue just before 7:15 p.m. in reference to a possible overdose. However, Samman’s mother issued a statement earlier this week refuting that heroin was involved.
“Josh is still in a coma, and more tests are being done. That is the latest update on my son’s condition,” Samman’s mother said in the statement. “And in spite of speculation, there was no heroin found in Josh’s system whatsoever. No matter what people are posting on social media.”
Samman remained comatose for several days and was moved to a hospice late Tuesday night. Confirmation of his passing came Wednesday morning via the Tallahassee Democrat.
Samman first debuted as a cast member on season 17 of “The Ultimate Fighter” and was coached by Jon Jones. He went 3-2 during his UFC tenure and was scheduled to fight Oluwale Bamgbose on Dec. 9 at UFC Fight Night in Albany.
A group of hackers hacked the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) database and released the medical files of four American Olympic athletes, which includes Serena Williams and Venus Williams. It was confirmed by WADA officials on Tuesday.
The hacker Fancy Bear said on its website that they would expose illicit doping US athletes like gymnast Simone Biles, basketball player Elena Delle Donne and the Williams sisters. The documents posted on their website shows that the athletes were granted exemptions by WADA to use banned drugs.
Simone Biles - tested positive after illicit methylphenidate, a psychostimulant, was detected in her sample. Biles had been taking amphetamine for a while.
American basketball star Elena Delle Donne - tested positive on amphetamine.
Serena & Venus Williams - tested positive on oxycodone and hydromorphone (opioids), prednisone, prednisolone, and methylprednisolone.

Not good for the Dallas Cowboys their backup quarterback Kellen Moore broke his ankle while in their training camp. According to reports, while they are at practice he dropped back to pass and got his ankle rolled up on. He was helped off the field since he was not able to stand by himself. His right ankle was put into a soft cast and he was carted off the field.
Third-string quarterback Dak Prescott was the next man up during drills. He took over the second-team offense for the Cowboys at camp.
The injury happened near the end of the team practice. Also Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain has not yet reported to training camp and there are doubts that he will play in the NFL again since it has been confirmed that his suspension for 10 games is not for a failed marijuana test but for an opiate commonly referred to as "purple drank" (Sprite, cough syrup and codeine).

It's certainly not good news for the Cowboys since they are losing good people and they needed all the help they can get behind Tony Romo.
According to Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck, the Boston Celtics are inching closer in getting Oklahoma City Thunder star point guard Russell Westbrook and it is his most likely destination.
“What I’m hearing here in Las Vegas from some GMs is that they think not only Russell Westbrook will get traded, that it’ll be sooner than later,” Beck said in a video posted Wednesday morning, “and that the most likely destination now would be the Boston Celtics.”
Westbrook averaged 23.5 points and 10.4 assists last season, in what was the most efficient year of his thus far tremendous career.
